How a session works

A familiar shape, every time

Each class follows the same rhythm, tailored by age and experience so everyone is challenged and safe.

  1. Warm-up

Games and movement to get bodies ready and minds focused.

  2. Technical instruction

A coach demonstrates the throw or hold for the session.

  3. Drills

Repetition with a partner to build the shape and timing.

  4. Randori

Light, controlled sparring to put it together, at every member's level.

  5. Cool down

Stretch, reflect, and a word on what we learned today.

Safety first

Younger members are grouped by size, not just age

Judo is built on safe partner work. We band our juniors by size and weight as well as age, so a smaller child is never paired against someone much bigger. It keeps falls controlled, builds confidence, and means every child has a positive, fair experience on the mat.
